Ilios
Cafe , Makriyialos. The
building which houses Ilios Café is approximately 150 years
old and was originally used to store carob and olive oil prior to

1982 the building, owned by the Kotsifos (meaning 'blackbird') family,
was renovated and became the first bar to open in Makri Gialos.
Ilios Café is now owned by
Maria, who originates from the nearby village of Lithines, and was
newly renovated and re-opened in July 2005.
The
Greek word for the cafe is anglicised to Ilios and is pronounced
ee-lee-os meaning Sun. The cafe is open from 9am until late and
serves a variety of appetizing snacks, soft drinks, beers, quality
